All the middle Eastern restaurants  in L.A. (and i have eaten at many of
them) canNOT hold a candle to the Deli at St. Vincent's Court. IT is
tucked away in the Alley, the first place you see on your left as you
enter from 7th St.  Jiray is amazing: the meat for the DONER kebab
and sandwich is roasted fresh daily, when they run out, so do you...
get there before 2 or earlier.  He also has an array of other delights,
the most appealing to me today was the ASHTA, which is described
as pudding with pistachios on the bottom.  I'll have to go back
for that, along with the fresh baked MAMOUN as well as the
fill dough pastry which looked absolutely scrumptious.   CASH ONLY!!
They also sell great "Turkish Coffee' as well as the not so Turkish
but delicious cappuccino.  The clientele is largely from the
neighborhood and seem to have eaten there for YEARS!! Where have I been?  A  great 'secret' find.

4+stars?? Really?? This place was really disappointing. I walk past St. Vincent Court almost every time I'm in DTLA, and have always wondered if the food was any good in the several eateries located there. I had some time for lunch this past weekend, so I thought I'd give it a try. The sign out front advertising freshly made (not frozen) döner kebobs drew me in. With a can of soda, $13+change. Sat in one of the small tables in the sidewalk, and waited for my order. About 8-10 minutes, this lifeless-looking thing was brought to my table. The meat was dry, mealy, and bland. It took several bites before I tasted some of the accoutrements that were placed deep in the pita, followed by the meat. I give it (barely) 2-stars. I hope the staff take this review seriously, as the competition for quality eats in DTLA is steep, and putting out a subpar product like this is unsat.

It didn't kill me, but the wait wasn't worth it. Worse was that their gyros was nah at best. I have had better and much better gyros as it is one of my favorite food. I fell in love with them over a decade ago in Greece and ever-since remained one of my favorites to devour.

Two stars? Their service was lack-luster. You can tell that they have their customers and the newcomers are somewhat pushed aside during their rush lunch hour. The deli has been around for awhile and it has loyal customers, so I get it. It is just that they won't get my business.

Nearest Metro Station: Red/Purple/Blue/Expo Lines at the 7th Street Metro Center

I don't know how many times I've been here but I guarantee you my spendings are in 4 digits at this place throughout this year.

Really good and SO friendly! Will definitely come back!! I had the gyro and my kids had the turkey avocado, both were very good.
